All animals provide emotional support. But a legal Emotional Support Animal alleviates a specific symptom of an emotional or psychological disorder being treated by a medical or mental healthcare professional. While you cannot ask about the symptom or the disorder, you can verify that the animal is prescribed by a licensed medical or mental healthcare professional.
